How it Works

01.
The Details
If you love what you see on the website, we were made for one another. Simply let me know you’d like to reserve a date for your newborn session by providing your due date and basic information here. Booking your Boston newborn photography session requires a signed contract, payment of the session fee, and completion of a questionnaire. This questionnaire gives me all the wonderful details I need to customize your session and make it uniquely tailored to your family.
02.
Preparing for Your Session
Once you’re officially booked, you’ll receive a detailed email outlining exactly what to expect during your newborn session. You’ll also receive guidance on how to prepare, along with a link to clothing suggestions to help you feel confident and relaxed come session day.
03.
The Day of Your Session
It’s time to relax and enjoy the experience. My studio is designed to feel calm and welcoming. I’ll have drinks and snacks available, so all you need to bring is your baby, a pacifier, and nourishment. Newborn sessions are intentionally unhurried and typically last up to four hours to allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and cuddling.
04.
Your Preview Appointment
Approximately three weeks after your session, you’ll either return to the studio or join me for a Google Meet call to view your images. We’ll relive the beautiful moments from your private session together — and yes, I’ll have the tissues ready. During this appointment, you’ll select your favorite images and place your order, so all decision-makers should plan to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my baby safe during the session?
Always. I am fully trained in newborn safety and work slowly and carefully, following your baby’s cues at all times. Your little one’s comfort and well-being are my top priority during every newborn photography session in my Boston studio.

What is the ideal time to photograph my newborn?
The sweet spot for newborn photography is usually within the first 7–10 days after birth, when babies are sleepier and more easily posed. That said, beautiful images can be created at any stage, and I’m always happy to tailor your Boston newborn session to your baby’s individual needs.

How long in advance should I book my session?
I recommend booking your Boston newborn photography session during your second or early third trimester. This ensures availability around your due date, with the exact session date finalized once your baby arrives. All sessions are booked on a first-served basis, and I cap the number of sessions each month to provide exceptional service and attention.

How many people should I invite to my session?
I suggest keeping sessions intimate and calm, as a peaceful environment helps your baby stay relaxed and allows us to focus on meaningful connections. Standard newborn sessions may include siblings, parents, family pets, and even grandparents at no additional cost. Wrapped newborn sessions are focused solely on your baby. As a Boston family photographer, I love capturing connection and genuine emotion across generations.
