There’s nothing more precious than the first days of a newborn’s life—and being able to capture those fleeting moments for families is one of the greatest joys of my career. Just yesterday, I had the pleasure of welcoming baby Emorie, whose family is from Roslindale, into the studio for her newborn session at Alternate Angles Photography, located in Norwood, MA.
Emorie’s mom reached out to me with a clear vision in mind: she wanted feminine, timeless newborn portraits, with soft touches of pink and purple throughout the session. I immediately began styling a set of looks that would bring that vision to life—pairing delicate textures, dreamy wraps, and coordinating headbands from our fully stocked studio wardrobe.
Emorie is absolutely stunning—and even though she was a little unsettled during our time together, I worked with a lot of patience, soothing, and expertise to gently guide her into those classic poses that parents love. Capturing both the froggy pose and the womb pose took extra time and effort, but the results were absolutely worth it.
The froggy pose is a highly requested look in professional newborn photography, and it’s easy to see why. When done safely and correctly, it’s a sweet, serene way to highlight a baby’s delicate features and natural flexibility. With Emorie, we styled this pose in a pale blush wrap with a matching headband—giving the image a soft, feminine finish that perfectly suited her mom’s wishes.
Next, we moved into the womb pose, which captures that beautifully curled-up, cozy position that mimics how babies rest in the womb. This is one of the most timeless looks in newborn portraiture, and it was especially meaningful for Emorie’s mom, who wanted to remember just how tiny her little girl once was.
A little added bling in the headband especially for Mom!
