Boston area Families: Enjoy Generational Love in Middleton Baby's four month session

Sweet Baby Lily of Middleton, MA recently came in for her second Baby Plan session, and I couldn’t wait to share some highlights! As a Boston-area photographer serving families for nearly 30 years from my Norwood, MA studio, it’s always an honor to capture these fleeting, joy-filled moments — and Lily’s session was truly something special.

Part of my very popular Baby Plan (four sessions during your baby’s first year), this milestone shoot captured all the magic of her growing personality. Lily’s vibrant spirit shone from the moment she arrived — those sparkling blue eyes, that curious expression, and her playful little giggles made the entire session such a delight.

Like many babies her age, Lily wasn’t a huge fan of tummy time — and that’s totally okay! One of the benefits of working with an experienced baby photographer is knowing how to adapt. We kept belly time short and sweet, then moved into a variety of poses shot from above where she could relax and shine. These overhead images were some of my favorites — they really show off her personality while keeping her comfy and happy.

One moment I’ll never forget was photographing Lily with her 93-year-old great uncle. Yes — 93! Capturing that kind of generational connection is something truly special. I had a feeling this would be a moment worth preserving, so I gently encouraged Lily’s mom to jump into the frame with them — even though she was hesitant at first. Like many moms, she didn’t feel “ready” to be photographed, but when she saw the final images? Her face lit up. She was so grateful I talked her into it, and the portraits we created together will be treasures for generations to come.

Another highlight? Lily all snuggled up with a group of teddy bears, wearing a brand new Winnie the Pooh dress I recently added to my studio wardrobe collection. It was such a sweet scene — she was full of smiles, and the soft, classic colors paired beautifully with her joyful expression. Of course, I made sure to design a few blue-toned sets to make her bright blue eyes absolutely pop!

Sessions like this are exactly why I created the Baby Plan — to document not just milestones, but memories. From sleepy newborn stretches to sit-up smiles and first birthday laughter, each of the four sessions tells a part of your baby’s unique story.
