I had the joy of photographing Ario for his newborn session, and it was such a treat to welcome him back to the studio to celebrate his 1 year birthday with a special photo session filled with laughter, creativity, and a few surprises.

As with many babies turning one, Ario was a little shy at the start. With some patience, gentle encouragement, and a few strategic breaks, his sweet personality began to shine. His dad joined the session and quickly discovered just how much energy goes into capturing those magical moments. By the end, he was happily exhausted and full of appreciation for what it takes to create fun, engaging baby photography.

We began the session with a beautiful family portrait, capturing the love and bond between Ario and his parents. Ario then changed into the most adorable sailor outfit, complete with classic navy details, and sat amongst a circle of soft teddy bear friends. This setup made for irresistibly cute images full of charm and personality.

Next came one of our favorite parts of any 1 year old photo session: the tub splash. Ario had a blast splashing around, and the water play brought out some of his biggest smiles. These playful images show off that joyful, bubbly baby energy we all love.

Of course, no cake smash session would be complete without the cake. But in true Ario fashion, he had other ideas. While we set up a sweet, simple cake for him to dig into, he had no interest in smashing it. It was a reminder that every baby brings their own personality to the session. That’s what makes these moments so real and unforgettable.
